Datalogic Memor 30 Rugged Mobile Computer

The Memor 30 combines barcode capture and business applications in one handheld device. Operators can scan an item or location, check the associated record and enter quantities through a compatible warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) or retail application.

Standard-Range Scanning or Memor 30X for Distant Labels

The standard Memor 30 uses the Datalogic Halogen DE2121-DL imager for 1D and 2D barcodes. DeepSight technology supports decoding under variable lighting, including poorly printed labels and codes displayed on screens. Readability still depends on barcode size, contrast, damage and working distance.

For high racks or distant pallet labels, specify the Memor 30X with the Halogen DE2121-ER extended-range engine. Datalogic advertises a working range from 5 cm to 10 m for this configuration; these endpoints apply to suitable barcode conditions, rather than every label. Test the smallest and most distant codes used on site before selecting the engine.

Green Spot projects a visible indication onto the label after a successful decode. This confirms barcode capture; the application must separately confirm that the item or transaction has been accepted. Two physical side scan keys allow scanning without using an on-screen button.

Wi-Fi Connectivity and Android Support

Memor 30 and 30X are Wi-Fi models without integrated cellular connectivity or satellite positioning. Wi-Fi 6E adds access to the 6 GHz band where permitted and supported by the network. Check coverage and roaming between access points along the actual picking, receiving and replenishment routes.

The platform supports Android with Google Mobile Services. Datalogic’s current product information describes an upgrade roadmap through Android 19; this is a platform support target, not a statement that Android 19 is installed. Specify the delivery version, application compatibility, security-update entitlement and support end date in the quotation.

Datalogic Mobility Suite includes tools for device configuration, barcode input and application control. Scan2Deploy supports device staging, while OEMConfig enables supported enterprise management platforms to configure device settings. Business applications, device-management subscriptions and any additional software licences need separate confirmation.

Rugged Design and Operating Limits

The Memor 30 is rated IP65 and IP68 with the battery installed, covering dust ingress, water jets and immersion under the specified test conditions. Its published operating range is −20°C to +50°C; storage and transport are rated from −30°C to +70°C.

Across the operating temperature range, Datalogic specifies repeated drops onto concrete from 1.2 m without a protective boot or 1.8 m with the optional boot, under MIL-STD-810H test conditions. At room temperature, the published tumble rating is 600 tumbles from 0.5 m without the boot or 3,000 from 0.5 m with it. Include the boot when selecting against the higher ratings.

Battery Changes, Charging and Accessories

SafeSwap supports battery replacement with application-data protection. Follow the device’s prescribed swap procedure and verify application recovery during deployment; data preservation does not establish uninterrupted network communication. Battery-management tools help monitor battery condition and configure charging policies.

Runtime depends on scan frequency, screen brightness, radio use, temperature and application load. Size the spare-battery and charging arrangement around the shift, including shared devices used by successive teams.

Optional accessories include wired and wireless docks, multi-battery chargers, a trigger handle, holster and forearm holder. The Datalogic trigger handle and forearm holder require the protective boot. Specify whether a dock needs charging only, Ethernet data connectivity or desktop functionality, together with the correct adapters, power supply and regional power cord.

Illustrative configuration: A warehouse operator scanning rack labels from several metres away would evaluate a Memor 30X, protective boot and trigger handle using actual rack labels. A four-device station that also needs wired network access requires an Ethernet charging/data dock; a wireless charge-only dock does not provide that connection.

Applications and Model Selection

  • Retail: Stock counts, price checks, shelf replenishment and assisted sales through the store’s application.
  • Warehousing: Receiving, location checks, picking, packing and dispatch confirmation within Wi-Fi coverage.
  • Manufacturing: Component identification, work-in-progress tracking and production or quality records.
  • Logistics: Depot scanning and damage photographs; work outside network coverage requires an application designed to store and synchronise transactions.

Memor 35 or 35X: Choose the cellular counterpart when routes require mobile data or integrated satellite positioning. Memor 35 pairs standard-range scanning with 5G; Memor 35X pairs extended-range scanning with 5G. These models share the family’s 6-inch display and 4,680 mAh battery specification. Select the regional part number against the intended operator and network bands.

A lighter standard-range alternative: The Datalogic Memor 12 also combines Wi-Fi 6E, a 6-inch FHD+ display and the DE2121-DL imager. Its published weight is 245 g with battery, compared with 314 g for Memor 30, and its typical battery capacity is 4,000 mAh rather than 4,680 mAh. Evaluate it when a slimmer device matters more than the Memor 30 family’s extended-range option; battery capacity alone does not establish comparative runtime.

Integration and Buying Questions

Will Memor 30 work with our WMS, ERP or POS?

Compatibility depends on the application’s supported Android versions and barcode input method. Datalogic’s configurable barcode input tools and software development kits support integration, but each deployment needs validation of login, data formatting, quantity entry and transaction submission. Confirm any terminal-emulation or application licences with the software provider.

Can it read directly marked parts or UHF RFID tags?

For direct part marking (DPM), test representative marked surfaces before specifying the device; support for a barcode format alone does not establish reliable reading on reflective or low-contrast parts. Integrated NFC provides short-range contactless communication, while bulk reading of UHF RFID tags requires a separate compatible reader and application.

Can it accept contactless payments?

NFC hardware supports contactless interactions, but payment acceptance requires a compatible payment application and approval for the device and market from the payment provider. Include those requirements in the configuration review.

Datalogic Memor 30 FAQs

Which warehouse and retail tasks suit the Datalogic Memor 30?

Memor 30 suits receiving, stock counts, picking, replenishment and manufacturing traceability where workers need barcode scanning and an application screen on one device. Its 6-inch touchscreen supports viewing records and entering quantities. Choose it around the complete workflow: barcode distance, data-entry frequency, application compatibility and Wi-Fi coverage matter more than scanning capability alone.

What is the difference between Memor 30 and Memor 30X?

Memor 30 uses the Halogen DE2121-DL standard-range imager; Memor 30X uses the DE2121-ER extended-range engine. Datalogic advertises scanning from 5 cm to 10 m for the extended-range configuration under suitable barcode conditions. Specify 30X for distant rack or pallet labels, then validate both the smallest nearby codes and the furthest labels. The maximum distance does not apply to every barcode.

Does Memor 30 have 5G or GPS, or do I need Memor 35?

Memor 30 and 30X provide Wi-Fi connectivity without integrated cellular service or satellite positioning. Memor 35 adds 5G and assisted GPS; Memor 35X combines those capabilities with extended-range scanning. For Wi-Fi deployments, check coverage and roaming along working routes. Work outside coverage requires an application that stores and synchronises transactions, or a cellular model with suitable regional network support.

When should I consider Memor 12 instead of Memor 30?

Consider the Datalogic Memor 12 when standard-range scanning and a lighter handheld are priorities. Its published weight is 245 g including battery, compared with 314 g for Memor 30. Both provide a 6-inch display and Wi-Fi 6E. Memor 30X becomes relevant when distant scanning is required; compare handling with the protective accessories operators will actually use.

Can Memor 30 read damaged labels, screen barcodes and directly marked parts?

Memor 30 supports 1D and 2D barcodes, including codes displayed on screens, with DeepSight decoding designed to help with challenging labels. Readability still depends on contrast, damage, code size and distance. Direct part marking, where a code is etched or otherwise applied directly to a component, needs separate testing on representative surfaces; support for the barcode format alone does not establish suitability.

What are Memor 30’s temperature, water and drop limits?

Datalogic specifies operation from −20°C to +50°C and IP65/IP68 dust and water protection with the battery installed. Published repeated-drop ratings onto concrete across that temperature range are 1.2 m without a protective boot and 1.8 m with it, under MIL-STD-810H test conditions. For cold rooms or washdown areas, assess condensation and cleaning exposure separately; an ingress rating does not establish suitability for every process.

Will Memor 30 work with our WMS, ERP or retail software?

Memor 30 can run compatible Android applications, but connection to your warehouse management system, ERP or retail platform depends on the software and barcode input method. Datalogic provides configurable barcode input and development tools. Validate login, data formatting and transaction submission before rollout. Green Spot confirms barcode decoding; application acceptance is a separate event. Business applications, terminal emulation and device-management subscriptions need separate licence confirmation.

Which Android version and update support should we specify?

Datalogic currently lists Android 15 as active for Memor 30-35, while its product roadmap extends through Android 19. The roadmap describes planned platform support, rather than the version installed on delivery. Specify the supplied Android version, application compatibility, security-update entitlement and support end date in the quotation. Confirm the coverage and duration of any separately purchased support agreement.

Will the battery last a full shift, and what does SafeSwap preserve?

Full-shift runtime needs validation with your workload; the replaceable 4,680 mAh battery’s capacity alone cannot establish it. Scanning, display brightness, radio use and temperature affect consumption. SafeSwap supports application-data protection during replacement, using a battery-swap mode that temporarily suspends device use. Follow the prescribed procedure and verify application recovery, particularly for transactions in progress. Include spare batteries and charging capacity for successive shifts.

Which charging docks and handling accessories should we order?

Choose the dock by function: charging only, Ethernet data connectivity or desktop use. Memor 30 supports USB-C and compatible wired or wireless charging docks, but wireless charging does not imply Ethernet connectivity. Quote the required adapters, power supply and regional cord with the dock. Optional trigger handles and forearm holders require the protective boot; check dock compatibility with the intended accessory arrangement.

Can Memor 30 read UHF RFID tags for bulk stock counting?

The integrated NFC reader does not provide UHF RFID bulk-reading capability. NFC supports close-range communication with compatible cards and tags; reading multiple stock tags from a distance requires a separate compatible reader and application. Review RFID systems for inventory and asset tracking if this is required, and confirm the reader connection, mounting arrangement and software support for Memor 30.

What information should we send MarvelTech for a Memor 30 quotation?

Send the device quantity, application name, sample barcodes, scanning distances, network requirements, operating conditions and shift duration. Include preferred charging arrangements and any accessories you want to retain. Request an itemised quotation covering the exact model, memory, batteries, docks, software licences and any maintenance and support coverage. Ask for availability, lead time, warranty terms and the agreed deployment scope.
