The ML240 Series combines a die-cast aluminium print mechanism with a metal cover and media-viewing window. Its 248 mm width and 330 mm depth suit smaller workstations, although installation space must also allow operators to open the cover, replace consumables and access connections.
Model names matter when specifying this range. The ML240P and ML340P include a 2.3-inch colour LCD, Ethernet, serial and USB connections. The basic ML240 and ML340 have LED indicators and USB connectivity as standard; their specifications should not be treated as interchangeable with the P models.
Thermal transfer uses a ribbon to print onto compatible label material. It suits product identification, asset labels and manufacturing traceability where the print must withstand handling or remain readable over time. Resistance to abrasion, chemicals and temperature depends on the selected label and ribbon combination.
Direct thermal uses heat-sensitive media without a ribbon. It is useful for shipping labels and other temporary identification tasks, but exposure to heat, sunlight or unsuitable chemicals can affect readability. Select the material for the expected storage and handling conditions.
If the application requires a wider print area, different media handling or greater roll capacity, compare MarvelTech’s етикетиращи принтери before selecting the configuration.
The ML240P prioritises standard label output at 203 dpi, while the ML340P provides finer detail at 300 dpi with a lower maximum print speed. Resolution is measured in dots per inch: more dots provide finer control over small text and barcode elements.

Maximum print speed is a printer rating, not a prediction of completed labels per minute. Label length, gaps, print density, material, ribbon and dispensing method affect practical throughput. Media width also includes the backing liner and must not be confused with printable width.
Supported barcode formats include Code 128, EAN/UPC, GS1 DataBar, QR Code, Data Matrix and PDF417. Available space, encoded data and the required barcode element size determine whether 203 or 300 dpi is appropriate; selecting a higher resolution alone does not establish readability.
The printer has adjustable gap and black-mark sensors, printhead pressure adjustment and ribbon tension adjustment. Calibrate the relevant sensor when changing media, then assess the printed result using the intended material, ribbon and operating speed.
Примерна конфигурация: a packing station printing 100 × 150 mm shipping labels could start with the ML240P and direct thermal media. A compact component label with small text and a dense Data Matrix code may favour the ML340P with a suitable thermal transfer ribbon. Both configurations require sample printing and scanning before deployment.
The P models support wired network printing through Ethernet and local connections through USB or RS-232. Their USB Host port supports compatible peripherals, including keyboards, barcode scanners and storage devices; a standalone scan-to-print process still requires an appropriate program or template.
TSPL-EZD provides compatibility with EPL, ZPL, ZPL II and DPL printer languages. When replacing another printer, test representative print jobs for positioning, fonts, barcode dimensions and command support before reusing existing templates.
Изберете софтуер за дизайн на етикети around the required templates, data sources and print workflow. Connection to an ERP, warehouse or shipping platform depends on its driver or printer-language support and any necessary integration software.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are optional, configuration-dependent interfaces. TSC’s ML240 manual specifies either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, without simultaneous installation. Confirm the exact printer part number and module requirements when ordering.
Optional peel-off and guillotine cutter modules change how labels are presented. Peel-off mode supports label lengths of 25.4–152.4 mm. The documented cutter configuration is limited to 4 inches/s and is intended to cut suitable receipts, tags or label liner without adhesive at the cutting position.
The printhead and platen roller can be replaced without tools. TPH Care monitors printhead health to support maintenance, but it does not grade printed barcode quality or replace a barcode verifier.
TSC’s current European ML range includes the ML241P and ML341P. Both accept internal label rolls up to 203.2 mm in outside diameter, compared with 139.7 mm for the ML240P and ML340P. Their respective maximum speeds are 8 and 6 inches/s at 203 and 300 dpi, compared with 6 and 5 inches/s for the earlier models.
The newer models merit consideration where larger rolls or higher rated speed matter. TSC marks the earlier ML range as discontinued on its North American website; confirm availability, replacement options and parts support for your location before specifying an ML240P or ML340P.
MarvelTech supplies TSC/Printronix equipment and offers equipment maintenance and support contracts. Request a quote covering the exact printer model, quantity, consumables, optional interfaces and label-handling accessories, together with any required software, installation or support.
Send a label sample or artwork, label and liner dimensions, material, barcode types, daily volume and peak printing requirement. Include your operating system, printing software, required connection, existing printer model and installation location. Ask MarvelTech to confirm availability, lead time, applicable warranty and service coverage in the quotation.
The ML240 Series suits light industrial shipping, inventory, product and work-in-process labelling where workstation space is limited. Healthcare sample labels and wristbands require compatible media and dimensions. Select around your largest label, smallest barcode and busiest printing period. If frequent roll changes or wider formats would disrupt operations, compare Marveltech’s Индустриални принтери за баркод и етикети before specifying the machine.
The P models add a 2.3-inch colour LCD, more memory and broader standard connectivity. Basic ML240 and ML340 models have USB connectivity, LED status indication and two operating buttons. ML240P and ML340P models also include Ethernet, RS-232 and USB Host. Choose a P model when operators need on-printer menus, shared network printing or compatible scanner and keyboard connections.
The 300 dpi ML340P offers finer detail for small text and compact QR or Data Matrix codes; the 203 dpi ML240P suits less demanding layouts. Maximum speeds are 127 mm/s and 152 mm/s respectively. Select using the smallest barcode element and actual encoded data, then test the printed label. Practical throughput also depends on label length, print settings and dispensing pauses.
Both methods are supported. Direct thermal uses heat-sensitive labels without a ribbon and suits temporary identification, including many shipping applications. Thermal transfer uses a ribbon and compatible label stock for applications needing greater print durability. For laboratory, asset or manufacturing labels, specify exposure to abrasion, cleaning chemicals, sunlight and temperature so the material, adhesive and ribbon can be selected together.
Check the roll, core and printable area separately. Standard media width is 20–118 mm, but maximum print width is 108 mm at 203 dpi or 105.7 mm at 300 dpi. Internal label rolls can reach 139.7 mm outside diameter on 25.4 or 38.1 mm cores. Ribbons can be up to 450 m long and 40–110 mm wide on a 25.4 mm core, with either coating orientation.
Wireless connectivity requires the appropriate optional hardware: Bluetooth is a factory option, while Wi-Fi is available for suitable P-model configurations. The documented ML240 configuration supports either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, without simultaneous installation. P-model USB Host ports accept compatible scanners and keyboards, but connecting a peripheral alone does not create a scan-to-print workflow; the required template or program must also be configured.
TSPL-EZD supports compatibility with EPL, ZPL, ZPL II and DPL, making reuse possible where the required commands are supported. Test representative jobs for fonts, positioning and barcode dimensions, particularly when changing resolution. ERP or warehouse integration also depends on the application’s output method. Choose софтуер за дизайн и печат на етикети around your data sources and operator workflow, and confirm the required licence separately.
The ML240P and ML340P offer optional peel-off and guillotine cutter modules. Both modes reduce maximum media width to 114.3 mm; peel-off mode supports label lengths of 25.4–152.4 mm. The documented cutter configuration has a maximum print speed of 4 inches/s and must cut through suitable material without adhesive at the cutting position. Specify label construction and presentation requirements before selecting the accessory.
The printer measures 248 × 245 × 330 mm, expressed as width × height × depth, with additional clearance needed for opening the cover and changing consumables. ML240P and ML340P operating temperatures are 0–40°C; basic ML240 and ML340 models require 5–40°C. All specify 25–85% relative humidity, non-condensing. Assess the printer’s location separately from the temperatures the finished label will experience.
No. TPH Care checks thermal printhead condition and can flag failed heating elements; it does not grade printed barcodes. Where an application requires a barcode quality grade, use a suitable verifier. Routine cleaning, media calibration and pressure adjustment remain necessary. Tool-free printhead and platen roller replacement simplifies servicing, but consumable selection and print settings still affect the finished result.
Availability needs confirmation for your region: TSC marks the earlier ML Series as discontinued on its North American website. Its current European range includes the ML241P and ML341P, which accept internal rolls up to 203.2 mm outside diameter. Consider these newer models when longer intervals between roll changes matter, and confirm replacement-part availability and support before expanding an existing ML240 installation.
