The T8000 is designed for continuous production and warehouse printing, with a die-cast aluminium frame, metal enclosure and dual-motor ribbon drive. Side-loading media, a colour display with navigation buttons and a tool-free replaceable printhead simplify routine operation and maintenance.
The manufacturer specifies output of up to 15,000 labels per day. Actual throughput depends on label length, print coverage, media, resolution and handling options, so peak production requirements should be assessed using the intended label format.
Direct thermal printing applies heat to specially coated media without a ribbon. It suits shipping, dispatch and temporary identification labels where exposure to heat, light or abrasion will not compromise readability during their required life.
Thermal transfer printing uses a ribbon to transfer an image onto compatible paper or synthetic media. It suits product identification, asset tracking and manufacturing labels that need longer-lasting print.
Resistance to chemicals, abrasion and temperature depends on the label material and ribbon combination. Select and test both against the actual exposure; choosing a thermal transfer printer alone does not establish label durability. T8000 thermal transfer configurations also support direct thermal operation.
The specified operating range is -5°C to +40°C at 20–85% relative humidity, non-condensing, with temperature limitations depending on the selected media. For cold-area installations, check the label stock, ribbon and adhesive at the intended operating and application temperatures.
The metal enclosure supports industrial use, but the published datasheet does not specify an IP ingress-protection rating. Applications involving washdown or heavy airborne contamination require a separate enclosure assessment.
The power supply accepts 90–264 V AC at 48–62 Hz. Standard cabinet dimensions are 330.2 mm high and 520.7 mm deep, with widths of 297.2 mm, 340.4 mm and 391.2 mm for the 4-inch, 6-inch and 8-inch versions respectively. Allow additional clearance for side loading and fitted accessories.
Select the model around the required printed area and the total media width, including its backing liner. The nominal 4-inch, 6-inch and 8-inch classes have different maximum printable widths.
| Модел | Резолюция | Максимална ширина на печат | Media width range | Максимална скорост на печат |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T8204 | 203 dpi | 104 мм | 25.4–114.3 mm | 14 ips / 356 mm/s |
| T8304 | 300 dpi | 104 мм | 25.4–114.3 mm | 12 ips / 305 мм/сек |
| T8206 | 203 dpi | 168 mm | 50.8–172.7 mm | 12 ips / 305 мм/сек |
| T8306 | 300 dpi | 168 mm | 50.8–172.7 mm | 10 ips / 254 mm/s |
| T8208 | 203 dpi | 216 mm | 76.2–222.2 mm | 10 ips / 254 mm/s |
| T8308 | 300 dpi | 216 mm | 76.2–222.2 mm | 8 ips / 203 mm/s |
Resolution is measured in dots per inch (dpi); speed is shown in inches per second (ips) and millimetres per second. Choose 203 dpi for general shipping and identification labels, or 300 dpi when smaller text and finer barcode detail require it. Maximum speeds are model ratings; media, print quality settings and verification can require slower operation.
The T8000 accepts compatible roll-fed or fanfold labels, tags, paper, film and tickets. Thermal transfer configurations support wax, wax/resin and resin ribbons up to 625 m long on a 25.4 mm core. Match ribbon width and formulation to the selected model and label stock.
Continuous and tear-off operation are standard. Optional batch rewind, peel-and-present and heavy-duty cutters support different collection and application processes. Confirm the accessory combination when specifying barcode verification, since verifier installations can require different cutter hardware.
Supported barcode formats include Code 128, GS1-128, EAN-13, QR Code, Data Matrix and PDF417. Printing support and verification capability are separate: the chosen verifier must also support the barcode’s format, size and orientation.
A dispatch station printing a 100 mm-wide layout could use a 4-inch T8000, provided the complete media fits its width range. A 150 mm-wide pallet layout requires a 6-inch or wider model unless the design can be reoriented. If labels need to be peeled for immediate application, include peel-and-present in the specification and assess throughput in that mode.
Serial RS-232, USB and 10/100 Ethernet are standard. Optional interfaces include dual-band Wi-Fi, parallel and GPIO, which provides signals for interaction with external equipment. Confirm wireless hardware and authentication requirements against the installation’s network policy.
Printer-language emulations include PGL, ZGL, DGL, TGL and others, allowing the T8000 to interpret commands used by several established printer families. PostScript/PDF, IPDS and TN5250 are optional capabilities and should be specified when required.
For SAP, Oracle, warehouse management or production-system printing, check the actual output language, driver, fonts, label dimensions and connection method. Test representative print jobs before replacing an existing printer; support for an emulation does not establish compatibility with every template or application.
PrintNet Enterprise supports printer status monitoring, configuration, firmware distribution, diagnostics and a virtual control panel. It allows administrators to manage networked printers across departments or sites. SOTI Connect is also supported and requires a separate licence.
ODV-2D is an integrated camera-based verifier for selected 4-inch and 6-inch T8000 configurations. It checks supported 1D and 2D barcodes during printing, records quality results and can be configured to retract, overstrike and reprint failed labels. It is not specified for the 8-inch T8000.
Verification operates at up to 8 ips, with a 6 ips limit for ladder-oriented 1D codes and 2D codes with elements smaller than 13 mils (0.330 mm). The system supports up to 50 barcodes per label and a maximum label length of 24 inches (609.6 mm).
For full grading, the minimum barcode element width is 10 mils on 4-inch models, 13.3 mils on the 6-inch 300 dpi model and 15 mils on the 6-inch 203 dpi model. Smaller codes may be readable without being accurately graded.
Installation and calibration require trained service personnel. Where a customer specifies an ISO/IEC grading method, confirm acceptance of the verifier’s documented measurement qualifications and exceptions before ordering.
The T8000 is relevant when the application needs an 8-inch format, continuous industrial operation or ribbons up to 625 m. Consider the Printronix T6000e when RFID encoding or 600 dpi printing is required; 600 dpi is available on its 4-inch model.
At equivalent 4-inch resolutions, both series specify maximum speeds of 14 ips at 203 dpi and 12 ips at 300 dpi. The T6000e’s 600 dpi version reaches 6 ips, and its ribbon capacity is 450 m. Select between them on print detail, media capacity, width and encoding requirements rather than assuming the T8000 is faster.
The T8000 uses either Ethernet or Wi-Fi for network operation. A connected Ethernet link takes priority; both network interfaces do not operate simultaneously.
Upgrade eligibility depends on the printer’s serial number, installed components and firmware. Some early Ethernet-only units cannot accept the Wi-Fi upgrade. Supply the serial number and firmware version when requesting a retrofit quotation.
The manufacturer supports the same label and ribbon supplies used with the T5000r ES, subject to matching model width and media specifications. The printheads are different and are not interchangeable between the two series.
MarvelTech can review label formats, media, barcode requirements and system connections to recommend a T8000 configuration. Pricing depends on model width, resolution, verification, interfaces, handling accessories and the required supplies.
Use the enquiry form to request a quotation. Include a sample label or print file, label and liner dimensions, daily and peak volumes, barcode sizes, material exposure, connection requirements, installation location and printer quantity. Identify any software, installation or support requirements, and ask MarvelTech to confirm availability, lead time, applicable warranty and service coverage for the proposed configuration.
Choose the T8000 for continuous manufacturing or distribution labelling when an 8-inch format or ribbons up to 625 m are useful. The Printronix T6000e industrial label printer offers different advantages, including 600 dpi on selected 4-inch models and optional UHF RFID encoding. Compare the required printed area, smallest barcode detail and peak workload; the T8000 is not automatically faster at equivalent widths and resolutions.
The T8204 and T8304 provide 104 mm maximum print width; the T8206 and T8306 provide 168 mm; the T8208 and T8308 provide 216 mm. Maximum media widths, including the backing liner, are wider at 114.3 mm, 172.7 mm and 222.2 mm respectively. Check both dimensions: a label roll fitting inside the printer does not mean its entire width is printable. Include barcode clear space within the printable layout.
Choose 300 dpi when smaller text or finer barcode elements require more dots per inch; 203 dpi can suit larger shipping and identification labels. Without verification, maximum speeds at 203/300 dpi are respectively 14/12 inches per second for 4-inch models, 12/10 for 6-inch models and 10/8 for 8-inch models. Assess usable output with the actual label, ribbon and handling mode, because maximum print speed is not complete workflow throughput.
Specify a thermal transfer configuration when assessing long-life labels or resistance to abrasion, chemicals and heat. It uses a ribbon matched to compatible paper or synthetic media and also supports direct thermal operation. Ribbon-free direct thermal printing can suit short-life dispatch labels. Durability depends on the complete label, ribbon and adhesive combination, so test the finished label against its intended exposure and service life.
Yes, optional ODV-2D on supported 4-inch and 6-inch configurations checks supported 1D and 2D barcodes during printing, records quality results and can overstrike rejected labels and print replacements. It is not specified for the 8-inch T8000. Include barcode types, positions and acceptance criteria when selecting the verifier. Barcode quality grading assesses the printed symbol; it does not establish that the source system supplied the correct product or batch information.
Printing capability and verification capability have separate limits. Printronix specifies a minimum barcode element width of 10 mil, or 0.254 mm, for 4-inch ODV-2D configurations; a printable code may therefore be too small for grading. Confirm the limits separately for 6-inch configurations. Verification throughput also depends on barcode orientation, quantity and validation settings, so assess the complete label at the required production rate.
It can be suitable when the system produces a supported printer language or uses a compatible driver. Built-in emulations include ZGL and DGL for established Zebra and Datamax workflows, while direct PDF/PostScript, IPDS and TN5250 capabilities are optional. Test representative jobs for fonts, barcode dimensions, positioning and page size before migration. The business-system name alone does not establish compatibility with its particular printing configuration.
Ethernet, USB and RS-232 are standard; Wi-Fi, parallel and GPIO are optional. Ethernet and Wi-Fi do not operate simultaneously: an active Ethernet connection takes priority. Check wireless authentication requirements against the proposed hardware and firmware. For a Wi-Fi retrofit, supply the existing printer’s serial number and firmware version because some early Ethernet-only units cannot accept the upgrade.
Your existing application may already generate suitable print jobs. If you need template creation or database-connected printing, assess софтуер за дизайн и печат на етикети separately from device administration. PrintNet Enterprise supports remote status monitoring, configuration and firmware distribution; SOTI Connect requires a licence. Confirm the selected label software’s driver support, integration functions and printer licensing for the intended deployment.
Choose according to how labels leave the workstation: peel-and-present supports individual application, batch rewind collects printed output, and a cutter separates compatible media. Continuous and tear-off modes are standard; these additional handling functions are optional. Specify label length, thickness and collection requirements when checking combinations. ODV-2D requires a compatible cutter design, and the installed accessories also affect working clearance and achievable throughput.
The published operating range is -5°C to +40°C at 20–85% relative humidity, non-condensing, with limitations depending on the selected media. A cold installation also requires suitable ribbon, label stock and adhesive at their printing and application temperatures. The metal cabinet does not establish washdown suitability. Assess protective housing for wet or heavily contaminated locations, allowing access for side loading, ventilation and accessories.
