description

The Datasensing DS4 Standard is an industrial-grade detection and measurement area sensor designed for reliable object sensing across manufacturing, intralogistics, and automation applications. It features configurable light curtain technology with fine optical beam pitches, flexible outputs (digital/analogue/IO-Link/RS485), and wireless setup via AppGUI. This robust sensor delivers precise detection and measurement of both opaque and transparent items, adaptable to various heights and environments.

features

  • Programmable detection and measurement light curtain for industrial automation and intralogistics.
  • Flexible detection heights from approximately 300 mm up to 3000 mm with configurable optical beam pitches (5, 10, or 25 mm).
  • Long operating range — supports sensing distances from around 0.2 m up to 5 m.
  • Reliable detection of both opaque and transparent objects, even at high speeds.
  • IO-Link configurability plus wireless setup via AppGUI for detailed parameter adjustment and advanced diagnostics.
  • Multiple output options: digital outputs, analogue signals and communication interfaces such as RS-485 and Ethernet TCP/IP.
  • Sensitive detection performance with adjustable thresholds via teach-in, IO-Link, or the wireless app.
  • Sturdy design with robust environmental protection (IP65/IP67), suited to demanding factory environments.
  • Built-in LED indicators for power, emission status, errors and configuration feedback.

applications

  • Manufacturing production lines.
  • Intralogistics and automated warehouses.
  • Packaging systems.
  • End-of-line quality checks.
  • Transparent material detection.
  • High-speed material handling.
